Welcome to Oldham County

Highly sought-after area touting pastoral peace

Oldham County is a sizable county in the north-central region of Kentucky. It is also part of the Louisville/Jefferson County Metropolitan area and is the wealthiest and most educated county in Kentucky.

Oldham County was established on December 15, 1823, from parts of three different counties. Named in honor of Colonel William Oldham of Jefferson County, it is the 74th county to be incorporated in Kentucky. Since then, Oldham County has evolved into a thriving suburb thanks to past railroad development and proximity to the best Louisville has to offer.

Because Oldham County is ranked the wealthiest in the state, it should come as no surprise that real estate is a bit on the pricier side, with an average price of $345,600. There are many gorgeous contemporary homes in the area, as well as Craftsman estates.
